Lonely Planet, the most acclaimed travel “bible” released its list of 10 Best Tourist Attractions in the World last August 18. Cited within the roll are some of the most visited and photographed places in the world such as the Taj Mahal in India, America’s Grand Canyon, Machu Picchu in Peru and the Great Wall of China. What surpassed them all to appear at the top of this impressive catalog is the ‘Temples of Angkor.’
This is another impressive coverage for Angkor that further highlights its presence in the global tourist map. It is another well-deserved ‘feather in the cap’ for the Cambodian people. Angkor is indeed the greatest legacy of the ancient Khmers not only to Cambodia but to the world.
