Many people from around the world are now getting involved in volunteering be it in their home country or abroad. They share their time, effort and some resources to be able to help those who are in desperate need. In Cambodia, many people become encouraged to do some volunteering based on what they read on the Internet or through their first-hand experience during their visit. No one can deny that though the tourism industry is booming, not everyone is getting the benefit from it. Basic things like nutritious food, clean drinking water, housing, education, healthcare, sanitation, and electricity are still taken for granted – Yes, many are still underprivileged especially those who are living in poverty-stricken communities. Children as well as the elders are the hardest hit as they do not have much ability to provide for their own.
Cambodia is home to many charities and non-profit organizations; on the other hand, it is somewhat tricky to find legitimate ones. Navutu Dreams Resort & Wellness Retreat has been supporting several organizations and this time, we would like to encourage everyone to support Cambodian Child’s Dream Organization or CCDO.
Cambodian Child’s Dream Organization is a registered US-based 501 C-3 tax exempt non-profit organization which is committed to enabling Cambodian Village children and their families to break the cycle of poverty though sustainable village development. Their programs include access to clean water through water well and latrine construction, sanitation, educational opportunities, healthcare from birth onwards, improved nutrition, and economic empowerment.
CCDO was first founded in Cambodia in 2007 by a local tour guide with the sole object of building water wells. But after visiting Cambodia and donating her first water well, American Jenni Lipa quickly realized that the children hold the key to the country’s future. She believed that they deserve not only clean drinking water, but a good education, better nutrition and improved health as well.

CCDO welcomes volunteers of all ages both in their operations in the United States or in Cambodia.
In the USA, they need people to help with their social media activities as well as fundraising campaigns. In Cambodia, the organization welcomes volunteers on a short and long term basis. Passionate and dedicated individualswho can contribute their time and knowledge in all areas are very much welcomed.
Every single donation be it in cash or in kind really goes along way and can make a big difference in the lives of the village children. A pair of slippers protects them not only from cuts and ant bites but also from worm infestation. A free breakfast of rice, vegetables and fish fills a child’s stomach and fuels his brain. A school uniform, notebook and pencil afford a child a chance to attend school. A bicycle helps little ones get to school easily from a distant family compound. A water well protects a family & neighbors from intestinal diseases and saves lives of many children.
The Cambodian Child’s Dream Organization is a U.S.-registered charity with a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit tax exempt status. Donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. The organization is also registered with the State of New York and the Kingdom of Cambodia and with the UK Charities Commission.
