Trained in Rishikesh, India Margo Colombana is a Flow and Yin Yoga Instructor based in London. With 18 years of yoga experience, her passion and insight for bodywork guides her to develop sequences that focus on alignment and the breath. Each yoga session with Margo is an enjoyable journey of creating openness and space within the body, whilst being mindful of everyone’s individual requirements and levels.
Who is the yoga retreat suitable for?
All levels are welcome. Whether you are a complete beginner or advanced yogi, this yoga retreat is designed to be as challenging or gentle as you’d like.
What if I’m not flexible, can I still do yoga?
Yoga is a journey for everyone who wants to experience it. It’s not about the poses, goals or trying to achieve a certain level. Your instructor focuses on the breath, allowing you flow easily and effortlessly. She guides you to listen and tune into your individual body’s needs and enjoy your practice.
What type of yoga will be offered?
Each morning Margo will guide you through a Flow session to energize your body and refresh your mind. We start with a 15-minute warm-up, move into sun salutations, standing and balancing poses, and overall body openers. Some Pranayama (breathing technique) is also incorporated into the practice. Each evening you will be guided through a relaxing Yin practice. Mid-week we will focus on pose alignment according to individual’s requests and requirements.
What benefits will I receive from doing yoga?
Regular practice cultivates flexibility in your joints, improves balance, strengthens muscles and integrates mind-body connection. After just one session, you will feel physical and mental wellbeing.
Definitions of These Styles of Yoga
FLOW YOGA |
YIN YOGA |
Flow Yoga style of yoga moves gracefully from one pose to the next. Each movement in to or out of a posture is made on an inhalation or exhalation, so the yoga unites the breath with the movement in a sequence. The flowing movements may be combined with some longer holds of certain postures, all done at your own pace. | Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style. Fewer poses are held for five-ten minutes each. Instead of working our muscles like all other types of yoga, we relax into the connective tissue – the tendons, fascia and ligaments. The aim is to increase circulation in the joints and improving flexibility passively. Our breath is key in this practice, as we focus our attention inward. |
