Navutu Dreams Culinary Team led by our Executive Chef, Chef Bonchou, our Sous Chef, Chef Sovandam and our cook, Mr. Savathhave proven that when the ‘heat is on in the kitchen’ it is no barrier to success after winning silver at the prestigious Siem Reap F&B and Hospitality Show 2015. For over three hours, the Navutu Dreams Culinary Team battled it out against other culinary teams from around the Southeast Asian region to create their award-winning main course menu.
There were 15 entries for each category. Under the poultry category, Malaysia wins the 1st place, Cambodia (Navutu Dreams Resort, Spa & Wellness Retreat) wins the 2nd place and Thailand wins the 3rd place. The Navutu Dreams Culinary Team’s Lab Chicken Dish and Grilled Chicken Breast with Sweet Curry Sauce made them bag the silver award under this category.
Throughout the kitchen cooking off, the pressure was intense as the team fought against the clock and under the gaze of a team of culinary judges. Any slip up by the team would be duly noted by the judges and marked as deducted points. The panel of judges was composed of high-profile chefs and leading culinary personalities in the industry.
The Navutu Dreams Culinary Team said that they really put their best effort to have won the competition. They had been preparing at least a week ago before the culinary competition took place. They had practice and food testing which enabled them to come up with their award-winning main course menu.
On the day of announcement of the winners, their hard work and effort paid off as their main course menu scored top marks. The Navutu Dreams Culinary Team was very thankful to all the Navutu Dreams Staff as well as the Navutu Dreams Management Team for their support throughout the competition.
This is the first time that the Navutu Dreams have joined a culinary competition yet the outcome was great. This win helps elevate Navutu Dreams Resort, Spa & Wellness Retreat’s reputation within the hospitality industry.
The Siem Reap F&B and Hospitality Show 2015 was brought by Camfood 2015, Cambodia’s biggest international and beverage industry show. The event served as the avenue where hotels, resorts, restaurants, caterers, cafes, bistros, distributors/retailers, supermarket/mini-market operators sourced for a wide range of food & drinks, hospitality supplies, food processing technologies and management software from over 100 companies or brands representing USA, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and Cambodia.
