Navutu Dreams’ Chef Sovandam Competes at the Siem Reap F&B Expo 2015
Camfood 2015, Cambodia’s biggest international and beverage industry show is having an event entitled Siem Reap International F&B and Hospitality Show 2015 which will be held at the Angkor COEX Conference and Exhibition Centre in Siem Reap, Cambodia from October 6 – 8 2015. Siem Reap is selected as the ideal venue for the Siem Reap F&B Expo 2015 as it has become the tourism center in Cambodia with the Angkor Wat as its international attraction. Furthermore, it hosts most 4-5 star hotels and resorts in the country. The event is expected to be the grandest and the most exciting event for the hospitality industry in Cambodia this year.
The Siem Reap F&B Expo’15 will serve as the avenue where hotels, resorts, restaurants, caterers, cafes, bistros, distributors/retailers, supermarket/mini-market operators source for a wide range of food & drinks, hospitality supplies, food processing technologies and management software from over 100 companies or brands representing USA, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and Cambodia. This event is anticipated to open more business opportunities and help in boosting the tourism in the country.
As this glorious event takes place this week, Navutu Dreams’ very own chef, Chef Poem Sovandam is already geared up as he showcases his cooking skills and competes under the food and beverage section. Chef Sovandam has been a chef for about eight years and joined Navutu Dreams as a Sous Chef in January 2015. He has the full control over the kitchen and is directly responsible of the food quality produced under his supervision. Chef Sovandam has a passion for details and is very meticulous with his work. He ensures the food quality served to the guests and is very delighted to attend every guest’s requests providing them a personalized dining experience. His expertise is in Cambodian, Thai and Western Cuisines which he also crafts for every guest at Navutu Dreams Resort, Spa and Wellness Retreat.
Chef Sovandam started with a humble beginning. He started his career in the hospitality industry as a cook helper at Sofitel back in 2006 and from there, he learned some cooking techniques and was able to hone his culinary skills. His love and interest in cooking as well as his determination led him to where he is now. According to Chef Sovandam, his secret to preparing sumptuous and delectable meals is to follow the recipe by heart.
Chef Sovandam has been preparing himself for the competition since last week. He believes that his winning recipe, Grilled Chicken Breast with Sweet Curry Sauce would lead him to bag the championship.
