Angkor Wat Admission Fee
Travelers to the UNESCO listed and world’s famous Angkor Archaeological Park will have to pay almost twice as much for admission starting February next year according to the Cambodian government. The announcement on the Angkor Wat admission fee increase was made last Friday.

The fee for a single-day ticket to the temple complex will increase from $20 (£15) to $37 (£28), a three-day pass from $40 (£31) to $62 (£48) while a seven-day pass will rise from $60 (£46) to $72 (£55). There was no explanation given for a price hike at the historic site. On the other hand, the government said that US$2.oo from each ticket sold would be donated to the Kantha Bopha Foundation, a Swiss-run hospital for children which provides free medical treatments.
Aside from this notice about the Angkor Wat entrance fees, visitors to the Angkor Archaeological site have to be more aware about the Angkor Visitor of Conduct. The Apsara Authority which manages the site has implemented stricter regulations. Tourists who are dressed inappropriately will be denied to enter the temple complex. Revealing clothes such as shorts and skirts above the knees and showing bare shoulders are strongly prohibited. Smoking and drinking as well as entering restricted areas are also forbidden.
The new regulations by the Apsara Authority aim to harmonize tourist experiences with public safety and for temple’s sanctity.
