A Prelude to Mozart at Angkor
A Prelude to Mozart at Angkor kicked off in the evening of April 3rd at Navutu Dreams Resort & Wellness Retreat in Siem Reap with a performance by Martin Ng, a highly acclaimed baritone, cast as Papageno in the much-anticipated ‘The Magic Flute at Angkor’.
The event served as a taster of an exciting production – “The Cambodian Magic Flute”, a watershed adaptation of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” which will be the first-ever production of a Western classical opera in Cambodia, planned for December 2018. Martin Ng performed live and serenaded the audience of Siem Reap with his repertoire of arias by Mozart, Schuman, Schubert, Rossini and Scarlatti with Natalya Khon on piano.
Mozart at Angkor Production and Navutu Dreams would like to thank everyone who came for the magical night at the opera. The Prelude to Mozart at Angkor was just a sample of what is more to come. The event was made possible in support of the Mozart at Angkor Project that is looking after the final staging of Cambodian Magic Flute at the Angkor Archaeological Park in December 2018.
